Calculating the right amount of food for a cat
How much food should a cat be given per day? The amount depends, among other things, on the cat’s age, weight and level of activity. Our specialist vet, Dr Radicke, will be happy to provide a personal feeding recommendation on an individual basis. The following recommended amounts can be used as a rough guideline for cat owners:
- a cat weighing 3 kg can eat 175 g of food per day
- if the cat weighs 4 kg, 200 g daily is recommended
- a cat with a weight of 5 kg can be given 245 g of food per day
