How much food should a cat be given daily?
The amount of food should always be calculated on an individual basis. Age, weight and temperament play an important role here. If you have any questions regarding cat nutrition, please contact our specialist vet, Dr Radicke.
The following feeding recommendations serve as a general guideline:
- if a cat weighs 3 kg, it can be given 175 g of food a day
- if it weighs 4 kg, it will require 200 g
- for cats weighing 5 kg, 245 g is recommended
