A familiar situation:
On the way to work, whilst strolling through the countryside or riding a bike – you will always come across litter at the side of the road. Although it is annoying, it is not normally possible to take the rubbish with you at that particular moment. On CleanUp Day, however, we set off in small groups – equipped with high-visibility waistcoats, litter pickers, protective gloves and bin bags – and collected all the rubbish we could find.

All our office staff were invited to take part in the CleanUp Day. There was such a great team spirit that we were able to set off at full strength.
While collecting the litter, we had plenty of time to enjoy nature and chat to colleagues from other departments. We also had ideal weather: dry, not too cold and ideal for this type of activity.
When we were finished, we had 16 bags containing around 40 to 50 kg of rubbish. This consisted mainly of cigarette butts, tissues, glass bottles, plastic bottles, parts of cars such as hubcaps, and even e-cigarettes. We did, however, also come across larger items such as a children’s plastic kitchen and also a place where a collection of household waste had been dumped.
Finally, we got together as a team and rounded off the morning with a tasty midday snack and beverages. A big thank you to everyone in the animonda team. This tremendous commitment is not something that can be taken for granted!
